Beyond the Grave

Beyond the Grave is a surrealist, fantasy 2D sidescroller inspired by the ‘Magical Girl’ trope in anime and manga. 

Notable references include “Madoka Magica”, “Sailor Moon”, and “Revolutionary Girl Utena”. 

Masterfully bridging a gap across magic, darkness, and the afterlife, the game’s short duration fails to deter its brilliantly poignant grip on themes of identity, selflessness, and resentment.
